At Lloyd O’Sullivan, we’re passionate about what we do and continually strive to improve the support we offer our clients.
As such, supporting and encouraging our dedicated and hardworking team to develop their skills and knowledge is at the heart of our success.
So, in this team update, we’re thrilled to share some exciting news with you…
Our consultant and independent financial adviser Ekua Brown has achieved Chartered status
Ekua has worked in the industry for over 15 years and is one of our most senior financial advisers. She specialises in investments, pensions, protection, and estate planning advice.
Those of you who have met Ekua will no doubt appreciate her empathetic, holistic, and practical approach to helping clients with all their financial planning needs.
In addition to her extensive qualifications in financial planning, Ekua can now proudly call herself a Chartered financial planner.
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) only awards this status to financial planners who deliver the highest standards of professionalism.
Indeed, this prestigious achievement recognises Ekua’s ongoing commitment to her professional development and to delivering a consistently outstanding service to her clients.
Ekua said, “I embarked on the journey to Chartered financial planner status to deepen my expertise in financial planning and strategy, ensuring I can provide tailored, comprehensive advice to clients in all financial situations.
“This qualification reinforces my commitment to delivering the highest standard of professionalism and expertise and I look forward to applying this knowledge to help my clients achieve their financial goals with confidence.”
Chartered status is the gold standard for financial advisers
Chartered status demonstrates an individual’s commitment to professionalism, ethics and high-quality service.
To achieve Chartered financial planner status in the UK, an individual must:
- Earn an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning from the CII
- Become a member of the Personal Finance Society (PFS)
- Demonstrate at least five years of relevant professional experience in the financial services sector.
As you can see, Ekua’s achievement is no mean feat! It has taken her years of rigorous study and skills development to achieve this impressive career milestone.
Chartered professionals have made a public commitment to putting you first
Managing your finances effectively is crucial for building the life you want, achieving your goals, and navigating major life events – such as getting married, changing careers, or looking ahead to retirement.
So, we understand that choosing a financial planner you can trust is an important decision.
Ekua’s Chartered status means that she is accredited by a professional body as having the knowledge, experience, and ethics to deliver independent and trusted financial advice.
What’s more, to maintain her new status as a Chartered financial planner, the CII stipulates that Ekua must:
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Stay up to date with best practice
- Strive for positive customer outcomes
- Exceed the minimum standards
- Give back to society.
So, in addition to the exceptional personal achievement Ekua has made, we’re also celebrating the added value this brings to our firm – and most importantly to you, our clients.
Our founder, Tony Lloyd said, “We are extremely proud of Ekua’s achievement. It demonstrates her determination and commitment to both her professional development and the service she delivers to clients.
“Ekua’s Chartered status sends a strong signal to our existing and prospective clients, that Lloyd O’Sullivan is a firm they can trust.
“So, we hope you’ll join us in congratulating Ekua on her wonderful news.”
